78 front wheel thump

Good morning, 78, L48 auto. So driving home from work Friday I had a sudden thumping in my front driver wheel. It goes away when I turn right, I was having brake issues as well so I changed the caliper. I can feel the knock in my steering wheel. Any ideas?

How old are the tires? Perhaps a belt separation?

No idea about the tire age, I’ve read that before, I might swap the front tires and see if the problem moves

Ill looking at that this morning along with swapping the front tires to see if it moves.

I do something I call Laying of the Hands. Jack up the car and feel the tire for bulges, separation etc. If you feel a thump while driving, you will feel it upon inspection. If the tires are anywhere near 10 years old, get rid of them. Jerry
