Default 76 Noise when starting engine
I have a 1976 Chevy corvette, recently did a bunch of upgrades but I have this very loud whining/clicking sound when the engine starts. Is it the starter? Attachment should have the noise.

Fan hitting the fan shroud?

Some pictures would help too, what did you do to the engine?

I currently don’t have the fan shroud in. I pulled the engine to replace clutch, flywheel etc. The starter is new, new carb, new distributor, radiator, basically a lot but I don’t see anything rubbing or hitting. I’ll work on getting pictures.

Is the pinion to the flywheel gap correct?
