Default clutch problems

Installed a new ram pressure plate and clutch. The fork was damaged and I ordered a new one through GM. Assembled all the parts and now can not get the clutch to release. I adjusted the rod to maximum point. When fully depressed, the fork is hitting the floor board and back of the bellhousing. Could the clutch be installed backwards? Or any other suggestions before I drop the transmission again? I did not change the pivot ball and the fork looked identical to the original.

Plan on pulling the transmission this morning - Hope some one can e-mail by morning or call me (740) 544 -5182. I'll be up for the next hour and 1/2.

Make sure when you do drop the tranny that you have the fork installed in the proper place on the throwout bearning. This may be your problem. I have a Ram clutch in mine but I replaced the fork and the ball stud. Woks fine.

Was the new clutch the same type as the one you took out? The diaphragm type takes a different throw-out bearing then the three finger type, I believe this is right. Maybe you have the wrong type of throw-out bearing.
