Repairing expansion tanks?
I found a pin hole in my expansion tank today. Anyone know of a sealer which will work on the inside? Possibly some kind of coating I can pour in and move around with the tank removed. Thanks, Carl

If you clean it really good you can fix it with a high strength industrial epoxy like scotch weld. It may be a temporary fix however so you may consider getting a new tank from one of the corvette supply houses. They will even date code them for you car if that's a concern.

You can scuff sand the area on the outside of the tank and apply a smooth patch of JB Weld around the hole. When this dries, scuff sand and smooth taper the edges of the JB weld and then apply a one to two inch dia. patch using one or two layers of fine weave fiberglass cloth wetted with structural epoxy. I repaired a hot water tank for a camper this way, still holding :D
