Default C3 wires are a mess

Hi all. I have an 81 that my husband and I are trying to restore. The prior owner went through the wires and messed many of them up. Generally we can match wire colors and get it to function but in the console of this car we are having difficulties. The previous owner cut all the wires and there are no connections. To make it worse there are two yellow wires and we do not know how to hook things up. I am inserting pictures to help explain our problems. You can see that we have 3 bundles to hook up. One is for the power antenna, one appears to be for the radio and the other one apparently controls everything else. The final picture is of the car wires. We have tried to find wiring diagrams but they do not show the wire colors. Can anyone help us figure this out or tell us how to try to figure it all out? Thanks for your help.

Doc Rebuild schematics show wire color, a picture of each connector and where it goes all in a nice plastic coated sheet.

Doc Rebuild’s website does not list a 1981 choice.

Zip Corvette and several other suppliers have diagrams for the 81 available.

I despaired at the thought of the mess that is their website so I didn't check. Turns out the list of what's available is easily found. If I needed an 81 I probably would have called anyway as who knows how often they update. Thanks for checking.

No worries! That whole operation has been a near-constant source of love-hate on this forum but at the end of the day, he’s got good stuff!

You might try getting a diagram from user PAPAWANA via this thread...

I don't think the wires in the diagrams are actually in color, but they should at least be indicated using abbreviiated label notations.

Hopefully it'll help.
