Default ‘76 Wiper Arm/Hood Interference

My ‘76 has the stock “long” hood. My problem is that the passenger side wiper arm hits the cowl part of the hood at the bottom of its arc (see photo). Does it look like the OEM arm or is it an aftermarket item with a different design? If OEM, how do I eliminate the current “interference fit”? Note that the hood sits flush with the fenders when closed.

I went to change my wiper blades, and had this same problem with all the sets (4) I brought home. I ended up frustrated and put the old set back on and haven't re-visited the issue.
This was the one I was looking for but couldn't find

That would probably explain the interference. Do you have a picture of the correct part?

Default Hi and welcome

Wiper arms are different depending on the car's year.
Check the vendor's website to get the correct year.

Trico #16-2 blades are low profile.

Yes I did, NAPA and most automotive places here in Canada aren't quite the same as in the States.....(ohh how I wish they were!!)
I guess I should start looking again now that I'm thinking about it.

Thanks for the tip about the low-profile blades. That might solve the problem without changing the arm.

I’ll see what they have. At a minimum, I’ll pick up some of the low-profile blades suggested by Peterbilt.

While we’re on the subject, I came across this on the Zip website:

https://www.zip-corvette.com/68-73-w...p-bracket.html

There doesn’t seem to be a similar part for the post-‘73 cars. If it fits a ‘73, it should fit the later cars too. Anyone install the bracket?

This link is the correct stop bracket for your year.
If the arm's are set correctly the blade should stop short of touching the bracket...

It looks very different from the bracket in the Zip catalog.
