It just started and I haven't driven it much since. It comes from the rear end and the sound is just like I ran over a puppy. Yipe yipe yipe. It sounds like a noise that perhaps rubber would make. Like it was being rubbed on something fairly hard. Yeah, hell I don't know. No clunk or anything that would make you think breaks. I looked around back there and the brake pads, and shoes, are ok. Nothing obviously out of alignment. I don't beat it and I'm fact it hasn't been driven much as I had it up in the air putting in a stall converter and new front suspension. It does have snake bite coil overs in back but I'm not sure if or even how that could cause the sound. The last time I heard it I got on it and it squealed once more then shut up. Wtf? I really hope it's not a rear wheel bearing- they're a bitch. But how would that impersonate a puppy. And actually in another part of this forum I've lamented about the rear suspension and it's twisting the rockers. But that's been happening way before the puppy noise.
I bent the rear brake shield when I repaired all of my wheel studs. It made a horrible scraping sound. Not quite a yipe but it was a quick fix.
I did the exact same thing and had to remove it on the side of the road. So if course it was punished accordingly. The noise now isn't a 'metal' noise.

Here are some pics. After adding the bolt to the rear of the bracket hoping to stop the twisting but prior to testing it. About to do that. Really curious how this bolt will effect the suspension and handling.
