What is this?
I found this under the passenger side dash. What is it, and is the hose supposed to be hooked up?

Tiny pic, but looks like the vacuum actuator for the fresh air vent.
Is this an eye test?

Oops, sorry about that, fixed now. You passed the eye test though.
What does the vacuum actuator for the fresh air vent do?
Does this have anything to do with the heater control valve under the hood, on the heater lines? (That one wasn't hooked up either.)

I don't see a pic but based on the description, it is the vacuum line that goes to the a/c recirulation door visible on this web page.
http://home.attbi.com/~jchadwick/ventilation.htm
This recirculates the cabin air when max a/c is engaged.

Re: What is this? (rexx78)
Now the pic is gone.
It opens the door so that frsh air can come through from around the firewall. It is part of the same temp control valve vacuum system, yes.
