Radiator Support Qu’s 72 BB
A major pain, but I got my radiator and shroud out today because the petcock had a little damage and little leak. I noticed that there’s a little spot of rust through on the lower right hand corner of the radiator support by the drain, so the radiator support is coming out. Yes I should have pulled it from the get go but my boys both went off school and I have no helpers to take the hood off, which would have made the job much easier.
Some questions for those who have done this:
1. Did you support the nose since its a structural part?
2. My plan for the replacement is to drop in the shroud then the rad/support as an assembly. Seems like many do it that way. Any tips or suggestions to make this go smoothly and not end up with a droopy nose. Lol.
thanks in advance. Some pics attached.
I replaced the radiator and core support in my 69 350/350 several years ago and I supported the nose in the process. I replaced it all as a unit and the only complication I had was that I had to loosen the passenger side upper A arm to get enough clearance.
