There is a relay located just in front of the auto shifter on a 77 c3. Can someone tell what it is for. I have looked through the wiring diagram and can't find it. It turns on as soon as I connect the battery and it is draining the battery. thanks

Reason: this is a pic of what I'm looking for
My '80 had an anti theft system power draw. It was shown in the electrical schematic as part of the courtesy circuit but the fuse box has a separate fuse for the theft system up at the top. I pulled the fuse for the theft circuit and the power draw went away. The theft circuit system is trouble prone.
Thanks, The picture seems to show the relay I'm referring to but the wire colors are different when I look at the schematic
The reason the relay wire colors don't match your drawing is you are looking at a 1st design drawing.
You have a later build 77, and your relay wire colors do match the 2nd design drawing.
File that drawing in the nearest trash can and purchase the 1977 Corvette Electrical Troubleshooting Manual...
You can find them on e-bay... A good clean manual goes between $20.00 & $30.00 USD.

Looks like others have suggested that it's the anti-theft relay so I'll leave that call alone. However, In your photo, it looks like there is a short portion of a light blue wire protruding from the taped wiring harness on the right side of the picture. Not a great angle to see what it really is, but you might want to check that out...
The Yellow wire at the relay is Line 2 of the relays coil (ground), Line 1 would be the Orange wire and is HOT at all times from the (CLK-LTR-CTSY) 20 amp fuse.
Try this, make sure the Anti-Theft control switch in the drivers door NOT activated or ON.
If your Dome light is working correctly then I would look at the Hood pin switch and make sure it is working correctly.
Are you sure the alarm horn is in working? try unplugging the Orange wire on the alarm horn, see if you still get your draw...
