What are the specification differences between the L-46 and L-T1?
And please don't answer "20 horsepower".
I think the LT-1 had a solid lifter cam but that's about all I know about it. I'm more interested in the L-46 side of things

Some LT1 fans will kill me but the L46 is "basicly" a hydraulic lifter version of the LT1. :) The LT1 used a Holley while the L46 was Q-jet. LT1 had solid lifter cam, L46 was hydraulic. Both had the big valve heads. Both had 4-bolt mains. Not sure on the compression but believe they were close to the same.

more duration on cam than L46
6500 redline
no fuel return line
holley 780 cfm vac sec carb
void of options (except a few rare versions)
compression on both should be 11:1
actual HP closer to 400+ than 370
There's a start on the LT-1.
Peak HP at 6000 RPM
Peak torque (380) at 4000 rpm

Robert N is right on. Both are great motors, you could take a L-46 and easily make it a LT-1 with air in 69 or 70 if you wanted. :D
