Re: Check out this 81 Vert on Ebay... (clutchdust)
As someone who owns one of those *Coupe to Vert* conversions I would suggest everyone pass unless you know all of the details of what went into it and who did it. The windshield has to be chopped and angled to the correct height to incorporate the vert top.... get the rear body lines & heights correct... just too many quirky things that can make it not right. I know.... I have run into those quirky things although this vette looks like it came from the factory as a vert. Here are the pix of what mine looked like on E-bay. Pretty impressive looking while in Canuckland. "Click" thru them... it might give you some idea how owners can present cars like they are almost perfect. Not!!!! http://home.houston.rr.com/bgrice/74corvette1.jpghttp://home.houston.rr.com/bgrice/74corvette3.jpghttp://home.houston.rr.com/bgrice/74corvette4.jpghttp://home.houston.rr.com/bgrice/74corvette5.jpg
Re: Check out this 81 Vert on Ebay... (GrandSportC3)
My 1979 has 40,000 original miles on it (and I know this FOR SURE), and its interior is in 100 times better condition than that car. That car's paint is in horrible condition, and the engine compartment looks like it needs a ton of work.
The only thing that I really like about it is that it is a convertible. The price seems way high to me.
