Default steering box

I have a 1980 with Hooker Sidewinder headers. Has anyone ever changed out a steering box with these headers before? The headers are horribly in the way. Does anyone know any tricks to get the header out of the way enough to remove the box. It looks almost impossible to move enough to get room to replace the box and the lift doesn't allow space to manipulate the header.Any thoughts would be gratly appreciated.

Sidewinder? Did you mean side mount? Remove the side pipe, remove the Z bar if manual, remove the alternator, remove the header.

To add, the box is baked by the headers being that close. A Borgeson won't fit either since it's larger, unless you take out the ball peen. You may find the side tube to header collector is seized on by the years of heat.

My Hooker side pipe headers fit just fine. I looked for Hooker Sidewinder headers, but didn't find anything. Post a photo!

I was still missing a few things when I took this photo, but there is room for a heat shield, too.
