I’ve recently bought a 69’ 350/300, the original dizzy has been replaced with an hei that was wired to the wiper motor. I’ve searched and know this has been discussed but after reading everything I could find didn’t find a definitive answer. I’ve read that best thing to do is run new wire to the unfused ign on the fuse box. On the ign spade there is already a pink wire with a pig tail, that I assume goes to the ignition switch. My question is can I just plug the new wire to th hei into the pig tail? Thanks in advance for any help.
You can certainly do run straight from the IGN terminal on the panel which is the easy way or you can replace the original cloth line from the fuse block with a correct wire from Lectric Limited. https://www.lectriclimited.com/produ...rsion-harness/

Yep. Isn't power to the wiper motor cut when the key is in the crank position.

Thanks for the reply, but the IGN terminal is already being used by a pink wire that comes down from the steering column it has a pig tail with another terminal coming back out. Trying to see if I can just attach to the pig tail terminal. I’ve tried uploading a picture but every time I do it pops up that “you are no longer logged in” even though I am and still able to post🤷🏻♂️

Is your pink wire pig-tail on the front side of the fuse box or the back side? If on the front side at the IGN marked fast-on terminal, it is fused with that 20A fuse marked DIR SIG/BACK UP. I wired my HEI to this front IGN terminal as I did not want a fusible link to blow if something shorted. I wonder if that extra pig-tail wire was already for the HEI but not hooked up yet?

the factory wiring for power windows or the speed warning or anything like that was pink wires that plugged into the spade terminals and left a pigtail available for other accessories....I just installed both of the accessories I just mentioned and that is how the AIM says to wire them
No, the yellow wire is hot all the time..ITs been used for this mod for decades. It works and its convenient.
Yellow wire- radio/wiper is on during ACC and ignition- NOT on START.
You can use that wire for an electric choke BUT not a coil!
The ignition wire -is on during ignition and start but off during ACC.
If you pull off the fuse block spade- it is fused but at 20A.
Unless you are running a 12GA or larger wire - you will need to put a smaller in-line fuse- as the smaller wire could melt before the 20A fuse blows.
AND use a "SX" rated wire (256º rated- cross poly linked- will handle gas/oil) for underhood use-
the cheap "primary" wire at the autoparts store will melt at 180º- doesn't like gas/oil.
