I have the reversed twin of that Milodon pan, left-hand dip-stick.
It's a wonderful, thick, high quality pan.
You will need the oil pump extended pickup as I recall because this pan is 3/4 inch deeper, maybe?
The shallow end clears the steering drag link easily. Magnetic drain plug.
I would highly recommend an Oil Pan Stud Kit. Best invention since frozen yogurt.
You might try starting a new thread asking if anyone is using this oil pan.
You would get more responses rather than asking this question in the middle of a thread.
Read everything in the pan listing.
A pan with a deeper sump may require a different pickup and oil pump.
I would call the manufacturer to make sure it fits with any modifications you have made to the engine, steering, suspension, exhaust etc…
Sorry HeadsUp I was typing so you got in just ahead of me
I had to have my oil pan removed to change the spring in my Oil Pump. I had a Corvette Shop (Tony's Corvettes) replace the spring for me. They pulled the oil pan and re-installed it and that engine has not had a single drip from 30 years ago until now.
I have ARP oil pan studs on my engine and it makes it easier putting the oil pan on and off. But having a "professional" install my oil pan was the smartest thing I could have done. We bought a Milodon BB Oil pan that will fit on my engine and has the kick outs to ensure that there is always oil at the pickup. It requires a tack weld to hold the pickup and someone has to break that well sealed bottom end. I will install it if I need it for any reason.
People always talk about oil leaks and I guess I have been fortunate enough to not have any in my 33 years of ownership. I use a 15W50 Driven Motor oil in the engine, if it leaked I would use a less expensive motor oil.
At this point im down to try whatever, even an unknown substance as steel, lol. Just want get this taken care of. I found this oil pan. Says its for stock c3 application. What are you using?
I have this version pan (Only I paid about $45 for a black LH version from speedmaster) It measures out to hang lower than the c3 pan on my car now and will require an adjusted pickup arm. Its identical to the rusty stock pan that came with my new block. I am on the fence about using it myself since it will be the lowest hanging thing under my car. I installed a borgeson so I dont have the steering components to deal with but I believe it would be close if they were there. I will likely transplant my stock pan since it was designed to have a lower profile.
Maybe theres something special about that one to make it superior to the stock pan IDK. For $200 I'd have to believe so.
