OT Help. Ford Explorer Rear End
I know this is a Ford, but I need help. I've got a 93 Ford Explorer 4X4. It is now 11 years old and I've never replaced anything on it until December 16, 2002. The pinion seal was leaking and I got it fixed in December. Now, less than 2 months later, it is leaking again. I took it to the shop that replaced the seal and they said that the pinion bearing needed to be replaced. There is not any noise or vibration coming from the rear end. I tugged on the yolk yesterday to see if there was any play, and it was rock solid. Well, I'm getting a 2nd opinion on it on Monday. Is it possible for this to go bad without any vibration or noise? How expensive is this type of repair?
