Took it in for an inpection, asked for a printout of the current setup, and sure enough I'm toed out .17 degrees in the rear, and I've got "some" slop in my ball joints. They won't align the rear untill I replace the joints though, so I've got some work ahead of me. Think the loose, rubbery feeling is explained by these two, or should I continue my search?
sounds like you may have a place that can do the alignment..???
fix all worn parts..bushings front and rear
post the printout here as well..
do you have shims for rear? if the alignment shop does i would be shocked..
I rebuilt my trailing arms but had a bit of play in the right output shaft of my rear differential. The play was about 1/4” but caused a very loose feel in my 1971 Vette. Everyone has covered the rag joint and it sounds like you have replaced that. I replaced mine with a three or four layer joint(original was about seven) but intend to replace mine with a stiffer material. I can still feel a bit too much movement in the point.
I think you got something still loose in your rear end. It’s frustrating but with all stock rebuilt components this rig should put a smile on your face. Im still fine tuning mine but getting there!
