Replaced my brake booster and now it seems the brake pedal won't return back up. I can't even pull it up manually, it's just stuck.
I pulled the new booster thinking it had the wrong shaft length but it is the same as the original, what else should I be looking at? What are the chances it's a faulty part? Are there any retainers that I need to remove on the new part??
You have pulled the booster back out and still you have to ask.
Does your pedal move freely with the booster out?
Did you have the booster properly installed?
After that, you have a defective part. Which should be obvious. But your looking at it. Not us.

The pedal moves freely with it out. It was installed correctly.
How do I know if it is defective? What should I be looking at?
What brand is the booster?
Or, where did the booster come from?
At first, I thought the pedal assembly under the dash had an issue.
But after you removed the questionable booster, the pedal assembly functions as normal.
Now, I question the tolerances of the rod inside the booster. Does the rod move freely on your workbench?
There have been numerous booster fails / issues on this forum. 99.99% of them is due to being a non-original type unit.
