I want to update my gauges to colored led lighting..However i want the speedo ( prefer a gps speedo) and tach to match..I believe the tach and speedo are 5 inches and the gauges are around 2 1/2 in..I am going to delete the clock and add a trans temp
Any suggestions on a manufacturer
I know they are expensive, but you can't beat the Dakota Digital RTX gauge package. Just finished a 78 or almost finished with them and they are great.
Holley offers some nice gauges with GPS built-in to the speedometer. The Holley GPS Speedometer is able to communicate with other Holley parts using the CAN bus.
Does someone offer RED Light bulbs that can be used in the dashboard? I am colorblind so I tend to stick with the plain white light bulbs as I can see better in bad light conditions with a good clear bulb.
Personally like the speedometer and tachometer they used in the 1968 C3 because they looked so great back in the day. My 1968 C3 dashboard looks like it came from a car built in "1967" and that is the way I want to keep it. My C4 has the famous Atari-Dash and that is a bit distracting but it looks good in a 1984 on up C4's. It was a versatile design but should have had another couple of years to get the bugs out of it. The C4 dashboard just doesn't last without some good help and lots of money.
I did the Dakota Digital VHX series. First thing is they come with NEW bezels, so there is no worry about cracks, stripped screw holes etc. There is also a provision to add modules that can supply you with any data you need like trans temp etc in a screen in the speedo/tach cluster along with lots of other info. Quality was outstanding and it all fit perfectly. I had tried doing some other ideas piecemeal but it didn't come out looking professional. As said, they aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. Cannot recommend this direction strongly enough. Here is my 78 custom interior
