So I finally picked up her 79 last nightcar is perfect. No wind noise rides smooth, the car feels more solid than my 92.
anyway the only real problem i have is that the tach sits pegged past 7000 the hole time.
and all the gauges in the center work (oil pressure, temp, ect) but when you turn the headlights or parking lights on they all go to 0 accept for the temp gauge which still work.
I would like to at least get the tach fixed for her if not both the problems.
Im giving the car to her on valentines day, and I want her to race it at the corvette challenge on the 22nd. :chevy
not sure about the tach, but for the center gauge problem you need a new curcuit board, mine was doing the same thing and the board was junk, replaced it and no more problem.
I am not real sure on this one, but i would first check to make sure you have all of the ground wires hooked up from the battery forward to the frame by the engine mount, then check the ones on the back of the heads as well. That's where I'd start.
