We don't give these cars as much credit as they deserve. Yes, they are essentially hack-up vettes, but in a good way.....? If I'm not mistaken, at the orig. 1953 Motorama there was a wagon vette concept car on display along with a hatchback vette and of course the 53 version as we all know and love. This is a wagon vette I stumbled upon in a showroom for collecytor cars in Florida a couple years ago.
I remember when they were not so uncommon. The modification certainly seemed to solve one glaring design problem, at least in my young, hormone driven mind. After all, corvettes are "chick magnets!" :reddevil :blueangel:
