Default Corvette parts catalogs

What Corvette part catalogs should be in your garage and why?
Thanx Dennis

You should have as many as possible. I have had to order from three places in order to do a particular job. Each place had some parts back-ordered but another had it in stock. Also each parts place has it's specialties and each has different prices for the EXACT same piece. I find that calling works much better than on-line ordering because the rep. will tell you if a part is in stock. If you just order on-line they will send you a partial order and you won't know it until you get the order. (not good when you're depending on all of the order to do a job.) Also various catalogues have Exploded views that are helpfull in identifying the part you need. Some are better than others.

Not sure about the garage, but I keep Mid-America in the bathroom! :lolg: Lots of nice pictures of their inventory (but no centerfold :D). Prices can be high, though. I also receive Zip, Corvette Central, Summit, etc. I cannot think of them all, they just keep coming.

I have a Zips, Ecklers, Dr. Rebuild, Corvette Central and a few issues of Vette Magazine in the "library", next to the "throne" for easy reference.

Order all the free ones you can, never hurts to have to many. Even if you only use them for comparison purposes.

Ecklers, Mid america, Corvette Central, Zip, Summit, Jegs, Corvette World, and Paragon.

BTW- I've ordered a zip catalog like 3 times. What's the deal?

Excellent catalog is the Corvette Chassis and Body Parts Catalog. This
is on the computer at all GM dealerships and is what they use to look up
parts. It previously was in printed form. Have seen used copies at swap
meets and on e-bay. You may also want to check at a chevy dealership
as they may have an old printed copy for sale.
The catalog is divided into two sections. An illustrated section with diagrams
of many sections of the car. The other section contains the part numbers.
It is very handy for determining the original part numbers. You can give this
number to any GM dealership and they can order this number if still available, or use the number to cross over to the current number.
The illustrations are very useful for showing how each section of the car is
assembled and the parts used.

I have a number of catalogs, but it seems like I get most of my stuff from Jegs or Summit.

I have Eckler's, zip, volunteer, paragon, Corvette central and a few others. If you are doing a job the requires several items, it is nice to have everthing at one time. When you get your order in a few days and they only send two out of ten items, you cannot do the job as you planned. NOW you have to wait for the rest of the order or order from another source . Either way it delays your plans. That's why I order from two or three places.. I like to drive my car instead of wait for parts to arrive one at a time sometimes weeks apart. When I rebuilt my steering column, I bought stuff from three places. Each place had one part, but I needed all three. I am not a paitent person when it comes to waiting for parts to get to me. If it isn't in stock I buy from someplace else... It's that simple!
