Re: Anyone switch to 17inch wheels? (electricblue)
Many of us have. I went to the 1996 Corvette wheels, and used adapters from Vette Brakes.
The change in handling is incredible, I turn the car and it IMMEDIATLY turns. It doesn't have the Cadillac smooth ride that it did before but when I put it into a corner it stays put. No wiggle, slide or hop - just GO!
Re: Anyone switch to 17inch wheels? (electricblue)
If you stay with the stock 8" width with 4" backspacing, you shouldn't run into too many problems. If you find a wheel that you like, post here to see if others have used them with any problems. Some wheels have trouble clearing the brake calipers on the C3's so spacers or adaptors may be required. Stepping up to a larger diameter wheel does improve the handling of our old cars though ;) .

17x8.5 VortecZ from Performance Wheel Outlet. It highly resembles a C5 Y2K five spoke wheel. Get a hold of any Vette-type mag and look for their add. I can email pics.

Thanks for the compliments on the car and the wheels. You will be very pleased with the Boyds. No disappointments, and they bolt right up with no spacers needed to clear the calipers.
But... make sure you get the right sized tires. From what you posted above your front tires will be taller than the rear ones. ????
There are no ultra high performance tires in 15 inch anymore. I'm even starting to think that 16&17's are about gone also in the diameters you really need.
But other than that. If your going to spend the money figure out the tires size you need first and then what wheel you need.
