caliper bolts will not budge
I changing the trailing arm bolts so i can align the rear end. I need to get the calipers off but the bolts will not budge. I have used a 13" breaker bar with no results. I am thinking of using a torch to heat up the area they thread into but thought i would ask here first. Is it common for these to be this tight? What is the safest way to get these off without adding to the broken parts bin?

Hose 'em down with PB Blaster, wait a day or so and try again with your breaker bar. They're in pretty tight, so your situation isn't unusual. If you lose patience, then go ahead with the torch.
One other thing . . . when you reinstall the caliper bolts, think anti-sieze. :D

Soak them with plenty of Knock 'er loose for plenty of time. Then try your breaker bar. I also don't think you can hurt anything with an impact wrench.

agree with the above, but you don't have to get the ears red hot, just hot enough to expand the metal and break the bolts loose. Good idea about the anti seize compound

If you have time use penetrating oil about 3 days in a row. Hold the socket end of the breaker bar and hit it with a 2 or 4 LB hammer. It's a little hard on the breaker bar but it's a lot easier on the knuckles.
