Mainly, the offsets do not move the bearing location so factory wheels, half shafts and strut rods all work with these. They just allow more backing spacing for a wider wheel and tire combo (they are also MUCH stronger). You do have to consider your spring length and rear sway bar as well, if fitted with one. Both will interfere with wider 15-17" wheels. Van Steel wheel specs for offsets/rear coilovers
Good timing, I just sent you my bearing assemblies to build me a set!
So it appears that 18" wheels are the best bet to avoid leaf spring interference? How tight are 295's and what kind of issues have you seen fitting them?
Personally I feel if you’re going through the trouble of changing out the trailing arms just go with the full coilover conversion. No interference issues to worry about, they easily adjust ride height and stiffness, and they look great. No issues with 275/50r17s, and I could go wider.
I’ll be getting the different crossmember mounts to raise the diff as a project for this summer.
You can’t go wrong buying anything from Van Steel.
I did my entire front and rear suspension with Van Steel.
Dan and Eric were great to work with and their customer support was amazing.

I agree.I went through all kinds of hell trying to get a decent ride with a shortened spring on my old 81. Tried multiple spring rates and shocks. Never got a decent ride compared to the factory leaf. I'm going this route next time
