Default Help with Headlight Hoses? ID'ing them.

I have 1979 Vette that has a few of the pneumatic lines cut and I am struggling to simply ID them.

Can someone help and tell me what these cut lines go to? I'd love to simply
hoses along the driver's fender
hoses along the driver's fender
get the headlights to raise.

Thanks,
James

If you would be kind enough to mention the color of the stripe/s on the hoses in question it would make it a lot easier for us to help you out. The emissions sticker under the hood might help with some of the hoses in the vacuum and emissions systems.

My 1968 C3 has a LOT of vacuum hoses that go "everywhere" it seems. DocRebuild.Com sells really nice charts showing each hose and where it runs to in the vacuum systems. He just happens to sell some of the very best sets of Vacuum hoses for the various year. Mine were replaced back close to 30 years ago with a set from DocRebuild. My next set will come from DocRebuild as he sells quality parts at good prices and restoration shops swear by him and his parts.

The Factory Service Manuals frequently have better documentation than the aftermarket books like Chiltons or Haynes. Somebody out there has a nice chart that shows which hose went where for your particular year and that is what you need to have. If not then go to Docrebuild.com and order the parts you need, he also ships things very quickly.

In the first picture you have the loose wires that have rings on them. I would tape over the terminal so you don't short anything. The second picture has a loose TV Cable which attaches to the Throttle body or carburetor on the linkage. The wires that you showed in the pictures have stripes in color on them to identify them.
If you told us what the individual colors are and where they were or are currently located.

The more information you give us the better we can help you resolve the issue. RockAuto sells the FSM and other manuals for your particular year on a DVD for a lot less than a printed version.

Underneath the nose of your car you will find the 2 vacuum relays. There is 1 small vacuum port on the metal control chamber that connects to the smaller vacuum line coming from the drivers side firewall. Immediately under that are 3 larger vacuum ports. The port closest to the control chamber should be red and connects to the rear of the actuator. The longer next vacuum port should be yellow and connects to the vacuum supply. The lower vacuum port should be green and connects to the front of the actuator.
Because you have 2 relays there should be "T" connectors to split the control and actuating vacuum lines leading to the relays.

Default Hoses

The issue is that someone painted my engine bay and all the hoses are now black, all black. So, I can't really find any colors or markings yet.

BTW, I am fozz71, the site didn't like my password for some reason and I had to re-enroll.

Where and what is that TV Linkage supposed to connect to? Its Greek to me.
