At one point, I had a 67 400hp oval port Tri-Power intake on my 69 with a stock Big Block hood.
It fit fine. I did not measure clearance. I layed the hood down gently and latched it.
It did not hit or rub anywhere.

If you arent looking for originality, obviously you are not, then the oval port 68 or 69 intake will perform really well with Brodix 270 heads....I am currently running that set up with the comp cams LS6 Nostalgia cam and it runs really well but needs help for the vacuum at idle. I run a small vacuum pump to supplement the vacuum at idle
