I lost the 5 amp fuse labeled inst/lps behind the carpet and thought it would be easier to get a new one than look for it at this time. This is the smaller fuse and I was curious if there are various smaller sizes of glass fuses? Or should I be ok obtaining a small 5 amp fuse at a local auto parts store? Seems trivial but at this point I’m trying to minimize my purchase of non-usable parts (don’t ask). Thanks to all the forum folks that have helped me in the past and I wish everyone a great 2025!
Well, it’s cold in my garage and didn’t feel like searching; but since my post I did pull up the carpet and couldn’t locate it. So I don’t know if where it went, so I thought buying one when I went out may be easier in the long run.
I will admit to also loosing a glass fuse under my carpet. On my 73 the carpet is underneath the plastic steering column shield that is attached to the firewall. When I eventually replaced the carpet, I found the missing fuse. Chevrolet could not have found a worse location for the fuse box, it must have been some kind of inside joke for the engineers.
