Not sure of the differences between c2 and c3 setups. But, there are a lot more engine swaps in the c3 forum.
Midyear - I considered whether we are hijacking this thread since OP is putting in an automatic and decided that the pictures I am posting may be useful. Best way if you are not sure is a PM directly to me.

I put the new motor in my car some 12 years ago using aftermarket linkage and adapters that were available at the time. My exhaust manifold came with my crate motor. I had the body off so was able to assess things with no difficulty. Installed an adapter plate for the ball socket that positioned it where it would be on a small block. Changed my linkage to that from speed direct. Biggest thing I had to deal with was moving the throw arm to the clutch inboard so it wouldn't hit the manifold, That constituted breaking the spot welds on the zbar and moving the arm to where there was clearance, then rewelding.

Not knowing what exhaust you have on your motor, I can't say if what I did will work for you.
Here's a couple of pictures that may help

I hope we didn't hijack either.
But thanks for the pics. Always good to see what others have done before you start a project.
