Wondering if anyone is has transplanted a Blueprint 396 Stroker into their Vette? And if so are you happy with it? I want something that will bolt in without a ton of complication with PS etc. Also wanting to keep my hood intact with an intake that correctly fits under the hood and keep it looking stock in the bay. I am not looking to leverage every ounce of HP from it. But would like some larger torque band. Planning on having a QJ I picked up off a 78 Vette that I will have professionally have set up to feed this engine, should I go forward with it. Car is a 1981.

Thanks in advance for you thoughts!

That engine, or almost any small block should basically be a bolt in for any C3. The biggest thing I would be concerned about though is the Dana 44 rear end being able to take the power you’re putting to it.

Chevrolet made a 396 Big Block but this is a 396 small block. Stroker crank and larger bore.

On my latest project an 80 Camaro and I came very close to doing the BP 396 but since I am a real LS guy I went LS3.
I did not talk to BP but I would contact them to see if that cam will support power brakes. Even with a smaller cam the 396 would still be a hoot in a lite car like your C3. Also I believe they run each engine on engine dyno. If so I would be really tempted to buy the BP carb that is jetted and set up for the 396. Same thing with the distributor. Also if you are running an auto what size stall?
