Default Hood Insulation Material

Well I spent over a hundred dollars with shipping for under the hood insulation for my pace car and I am very disappointed in it. The material is very thin in several places and it looks really cheap. It is so thin in a couple of places that it would be of no use what so ever as insulation. Does anyone know of any insulation material that looks nice and would serve its purpose? I don't care if it looks stock or not, as long as it is fairly thick and attractive when the hood is open.

You might want to try your Chevy dealer. I got a new one there for my 73 a few years ago. Craig

You can also try "b-quiet Hliner is 1/2" thick thermo/acoustic foam with a reinforced aluminum skin. It reduces engine noise in the interior of the vehicle and also reflects the majority of the heat from the engine. This protects the paint on the hood and keeps it looking new" - taken from their website.

Hliner should be cut to shape and then applied to the underside of the hood. It is self adhesive to make installation quick and easy.

Each sheet measures 54" x 36" for a total of 13.5 sq. ft. and weighs 3lbs.

Thanks everyone, I just bought the b-quiet insulation. It is more practice than the other mat that I received.
