Please help, I have done everything i can!! My water temp will not work\cooperate. I replace the sender, the gauge, checked the fuses checked the wire going to sender, got voltage?? Also replaced the circuit board on back of gauges.

It may help to know your year, different years different wire colors & circuit numbers.

Just to check, since I think some 81s had two temp gauges.
Does your 81 have a clock, or an oil temp gauge? Is it the oil temp gauge that is the problem?
I found a bent pin in the connector that goes into the back of the flexible circuit board on the center gauge cluster of my 80. I bent it back, and that fixed one of the circuits.
To ensure the wire from the temp sensor is not damaged, simply attach a temporary wire from the sensor to the gauge.you will need to get 12 volts from some place, how about the cigarette lighter. Make real sure you have any exposed positive wires completely taped/ insulated.
