Default Who cut my wires!

So the other day I was looking underneath my dash and all the wiring and i noticed that the white and orange wires(courtesy) feed into my kick panel but were cut off. however someone spliced other wires that look like they run to my over head light. With the driverside door open, the dvr foot and overhead turn on. The Passenger side only does the pgr footwell. would reconnecting these wires back help that issue and if so, how and where di i splice them back too?

Wow, love the wire nuts! God only knows what somebody did here or why. Following the factory wiring diagram for your year of car, yes try reconnecting the wiring while being prepared for smoke rolling out and or blown fuses. Because there must have been a reason for this butchery.

I'm looking at the diagram in the shop manual for this year and it looks like they lead to the other half of the car. If I were to connect them to their color, maybe it'll fix it. but the passenger footwell only has a orange and the book has it for both orange and white. May have to do some under dash exploring lol. Ill update when I find something. (also there is no red wire shown in the diagram, so that's fun)

There should be another courtesy socket on the drivers side footwell as well.
That's not a wire nut it's a crimp terminal. They actually work very well when wires are bundled like that.
No idea where the red wires are landing. There should be connector near the sillplate area under the carpet that connects the dash harness to the rear harness. The dome light exits the rear harness at or around the back of the drivers seat.

(UPDATE) So I had a field day cutting and reconnecting wires and finding other unfortunate cuts to other systems like the horn relay and from a connector for the electrical door locks. I found the wires and re did the courtesy routing and also bypassed the delay module since it fried and all lights now come on. HOWEVER; now they wont shut off and the only way to fix that is to remove the fuse. Admittedly I was using some thinking and guessing what wire goes to which and I've managed to get a hot wire in there somehow that's either a white or orange. I also had to re use the little fuse box that someone added for the radio since I couldn't find the original ignition wire. Ill update tomorrow cause I'm off to bed since I've been at this for the past 6 hours.

You say you have the shop manual...
Here are 3 photos assuming your working on a 79 , 1 describing the Courtesy circuit, 1 without delay the 3rd with delay...
Using the correct Circuit Numbers when troubleshooting is always beneficial...
You will see that the Orange wire (Circuit 140) is HOT at all times...
Anytime you see a Black Dot on a line diagram it usually represents a Splice Joint, sometimes they are labeled for example S140 & S124 like the diagram with delay shows...
The White wire (Circuit 156) is a switched Ground or L2 of Circuit 140...
Circuit 150 is a standard Chassis Ground and used throughout...
Anytime you see for example C124 that's a connector C=Connector
