Recently, I acquired a C3 that has a wide body. After a little research, I determined the exterior mirrors are the sport type; they look like C5 and C6 exterior mirrors. The problem is their fields of vision which are dominated by the extra wide quarter panels. I can think of a few solutions (that don't involve installing a couple cameras and displays nor any electronics), but searches on windshield-mounted mirrors, mirror spacers, or extensions didn't return favorable results. The car is nowhere near original, so I'm not opposed to using mirrors from other vehicles, but I don't want tow mirrors with dual arms or anything gnarly. Is there any retrofit option? Has anyone else encountered this problem? Thanks!
I can't speak to the C5 mirrors, but I have C6 ones on my 1978 C3 and the rear visibility is as good as can be expected with these cars. Not sure why the issue with a wide body. Maybe they are installed in the right place? Did the PO hook up the power to them?

The ones installed are C3 sport mirrors. The field of view is blocked by the quarter panels. I think I can gain better visibility if the mirrors are mounted higher (about mid height of the windshield) or if the mirrors are mounted more outward (longer stem or using spacers/extensions).
