Missed something
I have searched but not found the reason / fix for my 74 steering box rebuild issue. It's done and all good on tq wrench in ftpnds ect. My problem is I have the tight spot centred but it has the D flat facing 9 oclock not 12 o'clock.
does this mean I have to undo pitman shaft cover & lift pitman arm to turn my d flat to 12 o'clock position then drop the pitman arm back in ? The yellow dot is 12 o'clock and the 3 white dots are the tight spot. Middle being dead centre of tight spot. So it seems it's 90 deg out lol. Thanks in advance for a correction to stop my headache haha cheers Rod

Pitman shaft spline is dead ahead too
Somebody will be along soon to try and help you with your Steering issue. I swapped mine out for a Power Rack and Pinion system years ago. Being here is the first step in getting the answers you are looking for. There is a lot of knowledge on this Corvette Forum.
Y'all have a great day!
On centre with D flat at 6 oclock 🤣😂
