I'll take 32K for both, yes both cars. Come and get em. What a deal for 2 69 BB manual speed cars, one coupe one vert. I freaking hate both of them right now. Next week when they are running, the price is going up.

Even thoiugh the car doesn't currently run, there is no amount of money that would make me get rid of it. Not only was it my first car, it's the second biggest love in my life besides my wife. I just can't wait until I add more Corvettes to my collection. :auto:
...Or buy more wives :lolg: Just kidding, I know how you feel, other then my wife, and myself the 'Vette comes a very close third. :steering:

I acutually had something like that happen this summer. A neighbour , an older gentleman with money asked to buy my motor. All I had to do was pull it and he offered $15,000. I said I would think about it and went and discussed it with my wife. I was not really asking her opinion I just wanted to hear myself run through the options. The previous summer I had spent $9000 upgrading the motor to blower status and buying the blower itself. Anyway I decided for $15,000 I could not build a bigger better one so I passed. For the whole car complete I would walk away for $30,000 CDN.

Well ,the junkyard wanted $200 to come tow away all my vette crap ....
so I decided to keep her. :)

I have about $6000 into it (them). So, $10000 would do it.
That's about $50,000 Canadian, right ?
Keep :seeya , guys .... you know you're not selling her, unless mandated.

Well.. purely hypothetically speaking, $30k (US dollars) would get an instant response of "yours!" ..... $25k, I would have to think about it..... for about 3.5 seconds.... $20k wouldnt be worth it for me, even if the car is worth it. :) MJ

BTW, current exchange rate is CD$1.53 = US$1.00, so 1.5:1 gets you pretty close, and CD$50k = $32,600 US.

I could not and would not get rid of the 'Vette unless something serious came up with my family or girlfriend. I would get rid of the 'Vette in a heartbeat for my family or my girlfriend. The car just has A LOT of sentimental value. It has only been in our family and there are just so many memories with the car.

I've waited an estimated 25 years to be able to afford a Vette. I finally got one and it is my first. I think I'll keep her. Give her lots of TLC and MAYBE some day hand her down to one of my kids/grandkids/great grandkids (starting to get the point yet? :) ) :flag

Between the original price of the car, the new suspension, transmission engine and other fixes, I have about $20K - $21K in the car. I would only sell it if I could get a 1971 red big block convertible with 4 speed and a/c in very good shape. I would only sell mine if I could get enough from mine to make a down payment on the 1971 and get decent monthly payments. Say a $23K - $24,500 down payment on a $40K car.

The local Vette dealership has just what I want ---

1971 Mille Miglia Red 454 Convertible
4 Speed Big Block with Air
Two tops (Black soft top) Matching numbers 454ci 365hp with correct braided wires & top shield, 4 speed with factory a/c, ps, pb, tilt-tele, original am-fm radio, restored Black vinyl interior. Rally wheels with new white lettered Goodyear radials. Just serviced. Gorgeous Car. $39,995

Problem is that it's only worth about $14K.

My 71 has been "up for grabs" for around a year now. One guy came close to writing a check and the other is putting money in his savings weekly. First one with 14k gets the car.

One thing I am certain, there will always be a vette in my driveway. But now a days a daily driver seems more attractive.

I thought i could sell mine even though it's basically a basket case but whenever i get an offer i back down, because there is just somthing about my '73, seeing it convinced me to sell my 69 Z-28 that i had for 5 years and was the first car i've ever restored. I LOVE VETTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :chevy :flag

As nice as mine is and as much fun as it is to drive a "finished" car, I'd have to say the first $17,000.00 would take it. Unless the guy was a stock broker, then it's $25,000.00 ( I have to try to recoupe some of this years losses! )

If someone put $20,000 in my face, the car would be sold. I would run right out and buy another one and start all over again. Probably look for a basket case and build a monster big block. And of course, it would have to be a 69 vert...!!!!!!!

A guy I work with offered me some crazy money for mine not too long ago. I just couldn`t do it too him. All my other working buddies said I was crazy for not taking it, but I have to work with all of them. First he said $19500. Then he worked his way up to $21k. I kept telling him no. Finally he came up to me with a piece of paper and it had $21500 on it and told me to take the paper home with me and show my wife.

I just couldn`t take his money. That was crazy money for my car, IMO.
I don't work with him, send him my way! $21,500 US is too much money for my car too, but what the hell.....
