the Fram Sure Drain...who uses it?
(then click on the Sure Drain link)
i have used it for quite a while now and i like it because i dont like removing and replacing the drain plug as often as i change my oil...
im afraid that eventualy i will "wear out" the oil pan threads and strip them...
i am the great overtightener! i strip nuts and bolts all the time because like an idiot i overtighten everything!
i am getting better at this but i have to be careful everytime i tighten something..
i guess ive always been afraid of things coming apart on me...
anyway...i really like this thing as you screw it on just one time and leave it on there (i used teflon tape on mine...
it kinda works like a tire valve stem...even if you remove the dust cap, the oil wont come out...
when you screw the drain tube on it pushes in the valve and the oil comes out then...
the only draw back ive found is that the hole is small and the oil drains very slowly which is no big deal for me cause i am never in a hurry for my oil to drain...
i change mine in my shop at work and just get it draining and go make some signs or something and come back later...
actually i removed the hose from mine and just use the brass fitting...
i was changing my oil yesterday and when i used it i wondered if any of yall use it too...???
Unlike most C3 things, it doesnt leak!

I give it  if you are not in a hurry and don`t mind changing your own oil.
Have one installed on both my family vehicles.Never had a problem.
Lift up the lever, push to the side oil drains. No wrench needed. It's great.
Consumer's report mag years ago said the drian plug was a great item.Only drawback is oil takes a little more time to drain.
Fumoto Oil Drain Valve
Screws into the oil pan in place of the oil plug. All brass fitting, steel ball valve with teflon seal, spring-loaded locking control lever. No more worries over stripped oil pan threads or leaking plug gaskets.

A quality item.
Ecklers sells it.
Haven't got around to ordering one for my '69.
Probably won't.I use synthetic oil and only do about 2500 so I change it once a year.

Ecklers $19.99 and sites on the web.
Search Fumoto drain plug.
i like the Fram one because it has a cap...NO chance ot it ever leaking "by accident"...and EVEN IF the cap came off it wouldnt drain without pushing the release valve in (spring loaded)...
you can buy them at any parts store like Auto Zone etc...the're inexpensive...
also...i dont understand your disaproval Alwyn678...??? please explain...

I like the designs of these quickdrains better than mine, I wish they were FAA approved, $19.99 is a lot better than $70.00.
