Default This Clip ?

Does anyone know where this clip goes or what is for? When I was taking this apart I don’t recall this being used for anything, but maybe somebody out there nose, once again, your help is greatly appreciated with this.

Thanks
Powe.

This is a real question ? You can't figure out where this clip "goes" or what it does ??

What could it hold ?
Look to see where that trim piece came from ?
What purpose could a clip like that perform in that location ?
If there isn't anything loose apparent then look to see where that clip "locates" when the piece it is riveted to is in it's installed position ?

There is nothing that appears to attach to this what so ever. Not on the other sections, not on my videos of removal, with that said, I’m not a dumbass, I’m asking because I need to complete a project, I’m on here for help, not some passive aggressive attitude, get it together brother, if you’re here to help, help…if not move on.

Yes, obviously something is missing. I’ve looked over some diagrams. But I can’t seem to see what it attaches too.

Let me know if you actually know, I see ehat appears to be a metal piece protruding from the center console brace. This could or might be where it attached to the middle. That’s the only thing in that area.

Thanks.

A clip like that is usually used to retain a panel or piece of trim.
It catch's an opening or a slot in a fixed piece of structure and slides into the opening , slot or protruding "receiving" feature.
If you can not locate something that that clip would catch or hook onto then it could be redundant - probably used with some different option or interior piece - if so then it only exists to confound you LOL

I believe the tab circled in red below on the forward console trim piece slides into the clip you circled. See pic below.

I’ve had plenty of that, I don’t know who owned this car before me, but this thing has been a real nightmare, I’ve built several cars in the past when I was much more able, but this is insane. I know I’m not alone gin this, I’ve read a lot of horror stories, but slowly but surely I’m getting her back together.

Thanks again.

My 68 has the same type clips holding in these little panels. The little panels just slide up into the clip between the floor and the dash pad.
