Considering installing a set of headers on my ZZ4 in the 79. Can this be done without yanking the engine? Any tricks to this? I have 4 speed with true dual exhaust. Thanks fo the advice in advance!!

Instructions come with the headers. The main thing is they have to be installed from the bottom so you need to jack it up high enough to do this. Then there's the plug wire routing, not a problem really just making you aware. Do you have straight plug heads or angle plugs? Angle plugs are gonna be a pain as the wires hit the headers and you will need shorter plugs.

Angle plugs are not a problem if you route the wires in the stock[against the block]location.Ihave TF angle plug heads with Hookers and the wires are not close to touching. And yes the headers were an easy install from below.

:iagree:

You will have to remove the clutch linkage - regardless of which brand header you have ordered - so pay close attention to its assembly. - come up from below - you dont have to go too high off the ground - even ramps would most likely be enough. You may or may not have to remove the starter motor.

It is easier if you have a friend who can start the header bolts at either end of the header while you hold it up in the air from below.

Hookup may require a slight s-bend to hook up to your existing system.
