Picked up my driveshaft, halfshafts and newly rebuilt and re-geared pumpkin today on the way to work. Brand-new Spicer solids and 3.70s to replace the old 3.08s. Things are coming together. Just waiting on a gasket and cushions from the Doc and we'll be just about ready to rock. Think I'll notice the 3.70s when I drive it?
That's my setup!! I have a 3.73 rear end and solid spicers... However - my first gear on my tranny is 3.27.. and therefore feels even more aggressive...
I'm about to have that done,Would you mind telling me how much you payed to have the new gears intalled and the pumpkin rebuilt?
I can not wait to make the switch from 3.36 to 3.90
Thanks  :reddevil
Zack, I paid $400 for the rebuild with the gears. Your mileage may vary since my gears were a special deal--somebody ordered 'em and then backed out of the deal. The shop wanted rid of them so I got the Goodguy price.
You'll definatly notice more TQ and pick up from the hole. On the down side you will have increased cruisin rpm's on the highway. I do pretty good on the highway with my 3.90's since I got the 2004R with .67 od in 4th. I rev 2250rpm @65mph.
