76 fuse box/power issue

76 fuse box/power issue

My 75 lost instrument lighting and I was not pulling anything from the fuse when I tested. I pulled the fuse, cleaned up the contacts, added a new fuse, and still nothing.

all other fuses are giving a good read.

I’m not electric/power savvy. Do not know where to go next. Posting snap of fusebox in case someone sees something obvious I missed.

All suggestions are appreciated!

The INST. LPS fuse only has power when the headlight switch is pulled in 1st. or 2nd position(s)
Test both sides of fuse with switch pulled...

Also, the headlight switch has a rheostat.
If the **** is turned full CW you will not see enough voltage to light the gauges lamps.

Brilliant! Can’t believe I forgot that. I have a functioning instrument panel light again.
