Hi guys
Should the body be removed to replace whole body mount? Where i can buy another comolete plates to weld? How does it goes if there is barley metal to work with?
There are two separate things to address: you have the body structure and the frame pads. I think to do it correctly the body needs to be removed from the frame.
Yes, the body needs to be at least lifted.
if the metal is gone, replace the metal! As far back as you need to go. All sections of the frame are available. It's just a welding project. As per mounts on the bird cage. You can purchase some bits, others will need to be fabricated.
Riveting in those number one mounts to the birdcage is a really major job!
I'm sorry but your pictures are not coming through here.
thought I'd show you my number 1 passengers side mount. A couple years ago, which of course prompted me to lift my body. In a tiny one car garage I might add.
Number 1, passengers side body mount as observed 2 years ago. Number one passengers side mount as removed. Was so baldly rusted the bolt just snapped with little effort. Some welding to birdcage side of the mount was necessary.
When I lifted my body and repaired all my body mounts. I purchased all the necessary parts from Bairs Corvettes. And I would highly recommend them for quality replacement parts.
