I looked at the mounting position in the manual and made note of the wire length to the plug.
This is where I mounted the buzzer/relay.
Does it look right to you ?

This is a shot of the back of the gauge pod and the pin connector I used in place or the factory connection.

Mike, maybe these will help.
Here are pictures of my 69 with speed warning.
Let me know if you need me to measure anything

Thanks guys, that confirms it for me
On a side note, I see another difference for the ‘68 in your pic. I wonder when the gusset / brace was added, in ‘69 or maybe mid year ‘68 as my early ‘68 doesn’t have it. Theres also a welded in wire clip.

For those who are squeamish look away because I’m about to show you some Bubba work …
Last night while bench testing I ran into a potentially big problem with the speed minder function of the gauge.
At one point point it quit adjusting the needle. So I pulled it apart and found the dime sized white plastic gear had lifted up and disengaged itself from its adjoining gear. Damn, I slipped it back in place with the tip of my penknife but whats the probability of this happening again once I’ve got all this reinstalled in the car… pretty good I think.
So I came up with a Bubba solution to prevent the gear from lifting off the post again and that was to put a shim between the gear post and the body of the speedometer face.
It cost me just 25 cents.
The shim is held in place with a little bit of gorilla tape.
Sorry but its the best this old mind could come up with…
