Looking for reviews concerning Tony’s Corvette Shop in Gaitherburg, md. I have a 1973 L-82 corvette and need some repairs and overall evaluation of car. I live in lower Delaware, appox. 2:20 hrs from shop. Is he worth the ride? It looks like he can do everything at his shop. Therefore, would not have to find several locations and since he specializes in Corvettes I tend to believe the work would be done right. I am not looking to have a show car. Just one that I can drive with confidence most anywhere I desire. Thanks in advance for anyone’s words of advice.
PS> I have read reviews on his shop from 2016 and earlier, but just wanted to double check recent work.
PSS> Not wanting to be redundant, but posted same thread on General section too. Just wanting to get the most info as possible.
I would drive from much further just to get to TONY's Corvettes! The owner Tony and his staff are excellent mechanics and fair people to boot.
You can't go wrong with TONY's Corvette Shop! They are clearly ONE of the BEST shops on the East Coast. They are performing normal warranty work on the newer Corvettes as GM "trusts" them.
I have had them work on both of my Corvettes and have been nothing but happy with their work! They "KNOW" Corvettes up there and are great at solving any issue a Corvette might throw at them.
While I've never had any work done by Tony, he's been around for years and from everything I've heard he has a very good reputation. I have met Tony Avedesian a few times and I think I've sold him some parts. Gaithersburg's a good ride from me and I have reliable shops near me that I can turn to if I need work done.
If you're not familiar with them, there is a Corvette shop located in Middletown DE, Delaware Classic Corvettes. It's run by Ed Pearce and Dave Wittman and they're located just off of RT 13. Like Tony's, I've never had any work done by them either, but I've seen some cars they've done and have also sold parts to them. You can reach them at 302-690-6370 or 302-690-6339 if you want to talk to them or stop by their shop.
Like any business, if you look long enough you're going to find someone whose had an issue or that has something negative to say, but generally I think both Tony's and Delaware Classic have pretty good reputations within the hobby.
