I was trying to run down an electrical issue and noticed this brown wire that terminates into a black wire. It’s right under the steering column but I don’t see where the black end went to. It looks like it may have been pulled out of a terminal during interior installation.i thought I was very careful but…..
Ops, forgot the attachment!

My guess is the long “harmonica connector” and their wires will normally have a tiny brass pointed piece on the end of the wire. Also could be a wire from the ignition switch at the bottom of the steering column. You will definitely need a year specific wiring schematic.

I forgot the picture in the original post but went back and added it.
I checked my 71's old harness down in the baasement, and that black wire connected to the brown one should go into a capacitor that's mounted to the steering column. I believe that should be the radio capacitor...

The end of that black wire on mine goes directly into the capacitor. I think it would have been more that it pulled out rather than you having "knocked it off."
