Dyno numbers don't lie. If you think bashing a header and those little reductions in the pipes further down are not the same then I don't know what to tell you. Yes, manifolds into one pipe will be more restrictive that headers but those bends are not part of the restrictions. I'm sure if they tried the same test with the pipes you'd still not see a drop in power that you would feel.
