I received my NOS power antenna this afternoon and have it in the car, but have not been able to figure out how it should be oriented up in there. If anyone has a picture of their power antenna they can share, it would be very helpful. I'm also having trouble figuring out how the bracket is supposed to attach to the thing.
It would be tough to get a picture and one clear enough to show the relationship you seek. But essentially there are two brackets. The lower one the antenna sits on and should have a bolt that drops in a hole on the lower bracket. The top bracket will face the front of the vehicle and attach to a bracket attached to the body (I think). The drive motor of the power antenna will orient toward the body while the shaft will face the rail. If you have an AIM, it will show the orientation. Let me know if this helps.
Hey I appreciate it. The AIM that was supposed to come with my last parts order has been backordered... I figured it had the answer to my question. Jerry was kind enough to email me a scan of his 1980 manual that helps out quite a bit.
I am having to cut the clamp off my exhaust before the muffler so I can remove the muffler. Should make things a little easier.
