Hello all I just got some replacement glass from Auto city Classic and requested that the date, etc. was correct. When I received the glass, the date coding and the LOF is viewable from the inside of the vehicle when you look from the outside of the vehicle into the glass everything is reverse. Is this correct for a 72 please see the picture attached thank you in advance for all your opinions.
Pictures of my 72 from the outside. Believed to be original glass.
According to the NCRS info, '72s should have "Safety Flo-Lite" as the "type" of glass.
The dates were month/calendar year where Jan=N, Feb=X, L, G, J, I, U, T, A, Y, Nov=C, Dec=V.
The year for 1972 is indicated with a Y ('71 was an N for glass made for the beginning months of the '72 model year).
OPE! I should have looked at my NCRS manual before posting. Well the windshield appeared to be original. If I am correct the date code is July 1976. So it looks like the windshield was replaced in 1976.
All other glass is correct. Interesting at the very least.
