Default Fixed another wiring issue on my 68'..

I was always wondering why my CD Radio would always shut off if I would turn on the volume very high.. I thought that it was a defect on the radio.. Today - I went through the wiring and found out that the reason was a bad ground contact.. As soon as too much current would build up - I would loose the ground... and the radio would shut off.. I fixed it and finally I can turn on the volume to the max... I need the volume pretty high because the car is so extremely loud... :D :D

Olivier

You guys could be like me and have no radio to turn up. This is just for the mean time. I am gonna paint then do the interior. Radio should be okay after that.

Olivier:
I know where you are coming from, I also am running no mufflers in my side pipes. Even with the windows up (which I don't like) I still have to crank the radio up really high to hear anything (I should mention that I still have the stock radio and have no intentions on changing that...I like the little push buttons :) ). Most of the time though I just like listening to the motor and side pipes chorus :D. How is the quest for 11s coming along? I hope to be there with you in the spring time with some traction and tuning..

As soon as I hit 11's.. I'm going to put some STS baffles into my pipes... I often make longer trips with the 68' and the open pipes can get annoying on a long trip... I really love the sound.. but not for 4 - 5 hours without stop...

Regarding the quest for 11's... I think that I might be there on the 22nd... I'm still waiting on the parts to fix my clutch linkage to be able to shift better.. I will also get a electric fuel pump which should give me added HP.. I also might reduce some weight (no passanger seat, no front bumpers, no radio and rear speakers, no wiper motor, blower motor... The fix on the clutch linkage alone should make it possible.. but I want ot make sure...

Olivier

I blow a fuse if I have my radio on for extended periods. Stupid bubba radio install.

Grounds in the console are the most exasperating electrical item I've had to deal with....so far.
