I'm replacing the factory T-arm bushings on my 79 with new rubber ones and was wandering if the install tool is needed, or if I can rent a ball-joint press and use that instead?
Would anyone be willing to lend me the install tool?
I used a ball joint press on my trailing arm bushings. You also need a tool to to put a taper on the sleeve holding it together. Some people use an air chisel bit with a taper.
one of the corvette vendors sells them, USA made and a bargain as you can use the steel for other pressing needs.
I loaned mine out here a few times and the post office finally destroyed/ lost it it..but got my 60 bucks back.
i would buy the tool.
